It’s been three years since I checked out Design Miami, and in that time the fair has really grown up. In 2007 it was in the Moore Building, and it had a DIY, indy feeling. The booths were small, and you couldn’t imagine what you might find around the next corner. In 2010, Design Miami was in a tent across the street from the Miami Beach Convention center where Art Basel was taking place. The booths were huge, slick, and featured big name sponsors including Audi and Fendi. While it’s always a bit sad to see a child grow up, it’s also nice to see them to succeed. I loved looking at all the amazing furniture and designs, but I wouldn’t mind if the organizers brought back some of the indy flair. Here are some of my favorites displays from the show.
