Bagless Fashion Week Look #6

If only I actually owned these Acne boots, life would be so much better. Instead, my Acne boots are of the sky-high variety that just about every style expert in this Refinery29 story on how to dress for fashion week said to avoid. The good news is I do own a black maxi skirt, purchased in 2001 at Banana Republic. I wore it to the Yahoo! holiday party with a forest green cropped sweater from Anthropologie. I owned the sweater in several colors — red and eggplant in addition to the green, I believe. They came with matching tube tops in case you wanted to make your cropped sweater in to a normal-length one, or if you got chilly while wearing your tube top. Funny how a decade later everything is once again on trend (I mean cropped sweaters, not interchangeable sweater parts). Also, I’m obsessed with concert t-shirts, and that hasn’t really changed in the past decade either. I desperately regret tossing a few (oh, shredded R.E.M. Work Tour tee!). I’m hearing encouraging weather reports that temps might be hitting 40-plus, so maybe I really can get away with a wool blazer some days. That would rule.

While this outfit includes a credit card holder, and my skirt has two slash pockets, it’s still a bit short in the storage department. This has proven to be a problem — stay tuned for a post on my not-altogether-successful first attempt at going bagless.

P.S. I was totally channelling this awesome girl from last season’s Tommy Hilfiger 25th anniversary party.
