Forgive me, readers, for being woefully tardy with this post. Sometimes that’s just the way things are for me: like molasses. Too many other things happening in life. But I couldn’t not share this juicy information that I learned at a lovely brunch (fairly) recently at Neiman Marcus. Joseph Altuzarra, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund-winning and majorly up-and-coming designer was kind enough to join a gathering of San Francisco locals for quiche, brioche and champagne. He gave us an up-close presentation of his resort and spring lines, which included the most impossibly lightweight leather fabric among many other pretty designs. His tres chic grandmother joined us, and the lovely Katie Hintz-Zambrano, editor for Refinery 29 San Francisco, was on hand for a Q & A with the designer. Here’s some of what we learned (also see headline):
Least favorite word: misunderstanding
Favorite sound: someone sleeping next to him (aw!)
Least favorite sound: car alarms
What he would do if he weren’t a designer: Television producer
Job he’d never want to do: Accountant
There now don’t you feel like you know Mr. Altuzarra a little better? Check out the gallery below and you’ll feel like you were there with us at brunch.
