A Night at the Museum

It seems appropriately ironic to post a photo of myself attending a GALA on my first day as a stay-at-home-blogger-mom. Not that I don’t intend to still frequent many galas. I’m especially hoping for a regatta gala before the summer is over (does anyone get that reference? I am a giant Friends nerd). And, you know, I’m sure I’ll wear this on play dates now and again.

This particular occasion was the “Paris Is Burning Artpoint Annual Bastille Day Party” at the De Young museum. Yep, on Bastille Day. The best part was that the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit was open to us during the fete. The talking mannequins and decades-spanning fashions were no less compelling the second time around.

Also I have to thank Samsung for inviting me to the GALA. They’re on a promotional tour of their Galaxy Note… just this past Wednesday they sponsored an Urban Daddy party at Jones, which was also quite a fun evening. Any night I can drink champagne and eat ice cream for dinner is a good night indeed.

I am not usually a pink fan, but I liked this nail polish in contrast to the navy blue dress.

It was also cold so the husband had to please hurry up.

Dress: Shareen; faux fur stole: H&M, similar here and here; turquoise and gold necklace: gift from mother-in-law from Iran; box clutch: Trina Turk for Banana Republic; shoes: omg so cheap from A’gaci, I think they cost $7, which is embarrassing but hard to resist. Similar here in a much higher quality and 25 percent off!
