Kristen Philipkoski

Besides posting as much as possible about life in California at Stylenik, I’m a freelance writer and editor based in San Francisco.

In 2011-2012 I was contributing science editor at Gizmodo, which was extremely fun. I wrote about miracle cancer cures, evil shark fin soup, French presses, and lots more.

A few years ago (and for many years) I was a science writer and editor at Wired where I wrote about the athleticism of race car drivers, Heath Ledger’s overdose, Iggy Pop, limb regenerationcloning, stem cell research, and lots more.

At BoingBoing I’ve written about duplicity, art, fashion and design.

At TheBoldItalic.com I’ve written about taking (nearly) a week straight of dance classes, shopping and style bloggers.

I was the San Francisco editor for Haute Living where I wrote about Silicon Valley’s most adventurous capitalists, Silicon Valley’s women on top, San Francisco’s top chefs, and Chanel’s new San Francisco store.

I also contribute occasionally to San Francisco magazine, also sometimes teach Pilates at CorePilateson17th.com.
