Frida has a thing for Cheetahs. We’re not exactly sure where it came from but she likes to call people “bellybutton cheetah famous,” and we still haven’t figured out if it’s an insult or a compliment. So when I saw this pair of outfits from Nooworks, how could I resist?
I never pegged myself as a matching outfits kinda mom, but now that I’ve cracked open that gate, you can bet there will be more on the horizon whether or not Frida likes it when she’s 13.
Kourosh bought me these Air Jordans from the Nike employee store thanks to Liz, my awesome preschool co-op friend who got him and the teen access while they were in Portland for a basketball tournament.
Speaking of preschool… we’ve decided to keep Frida there for another year rather than enrolling her in kindergarten. She turns five in July, and her teacher thought she could benefit from another year of preschool. I was resistant initially, and it was a difficult decision. But apparently kindergarten is the new first grade, and many of my friends’ kids are coming home upset and stressed out about the things they don’t understand in kindergarten and HOMEWORK. I’m pretty sure I didn’t have homework until 3rd grade.
Anyone else struggling with this decision? Or has anyone else made the decision and lived to tell the tale? I would love to hear your stories!
Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy these super silly photos by the talented Sabrina Bot. We had a lot of fun and lucked out finding the perfect places to shoot—including an open window from which an actual (stuffed) cheetah sprang. You’ll have to check out my Instagram for that one.
