You guys, Alpaca Collections sweaters are SO soft. And pretty. The scarves too. And the prices are manageable ($100 for a scarf/shawl, approx. $200 for sweaters). I was excited to get a close-up glimpse of these lovelies, which will be available on line in the next month or so. And the fact that I got to eat pretty much the most delicious cupcakes (from FingerSweets) I’ve ever had and drink prosecco while fondling these amazing alpaca sweaters at TheFind headquarters in downtown San Francisco made tonight pretty awesome. The most interesting thing I learned: a very cute Peruvian animal called a vicuna grows hair that makes an incredibly soft fabric that looks and feels like suede. But it’s an endangered animal and can only be shorn every three years. That’s why vicuna scarves are a thousand bucks, and a coat? You’re heading into the tens of thousands.
