Fifty years ago, the Summer of Love changed everything in fashion. Hems were suddenly ankle-length, hair was long and straight, and silhouettes were voluminous—a swift about-face from the earlier sixties miniskirts, go-go boots and bouffants.
For some of us, 1967 is the jumping off point for every outfit we wear. For others, it’s fun to reference when we’re feeling playful.
Designers have made it easy to fulfill any and all Summer of Love sartorial inklings with plenty of floral blouses, wide-legged pants and platform sandals in their collections this season. Shop some of my favorites here!
