On Wednesday at the Lucky FABB conference in New York City, Diane von Furstenberg, the queen of the wrap dress and spokeswoman for “becoming the woman you want to be” charmed an audience full of bloggers. She regaled us with stories of her marriage to a prince at a young age, how she got her start with jersey fabrics and wrap dresses, her views on having children (everyone should have them), and her thoughts on husbands (they are difficult but ultimately worth the trouble).
But we’ve heard all that before. What was REALLY EXCITING was her amazing iPad-accomodating handbag (there it is next to her above). The Harper Connect comes in brown and black and is chic with its square, ladylike shape, gold clasp and oversized tassel. It offers no hint that it’s specially made for an iPad to slip into the back of it. A zippered, padded compartment holds the iPad in place and flips open for when you’re waiting at the café for your late friend. You don’t even have to remove the device from the bag to use it. Genius doesn’t come cheap; it will set you back $625. Maybe if you start being good now, Santa will bring you one in December.
