As I mention in my bio, I’m a reformed shopaholic. But it’s still a temptation to buy new stuff all the time. The good thing is I have no time for leisurely shopping anymore, and it’s no fun at all to shop with a 4-year-old.
But then on those rare occasions when I do find myself alone at a store for grown-ups, it can be a struggle! It’s a lot like trying not to eat sugar and refined carbs, which I’ve been off-and-on successful with lately. So I shop my closet often. I’m always looking for old pieces that I can style in a new way.
I bought this silk floral top from Anthropologie … at least eight years ago! It’s perennially one of my favorites. One trick to making sure you buy things that you’ll turn to for years to come is to buy natural fabrics. This top is the sheerest silk and it’s easy to wash by hand in the sink. And I just pulled it down past my shoulders to make it seem a little bit new.
The jeans are a current favorite, I am obsessed with the color of the denim, it’s got a very ’70s vibe. And of course my Freda’s are a constant go-to. Details below!
WEARING: Anthropologie silk floral top, old, similar here, here and here; Parker Smith jeans, sold out, similar here and here; Freda Salvador boots, color sold out, black available here; bracelets from Soko; necklace from Palanquin; glasses from GlassesUSA (they’re having a big Labor Day sale!).
