When I spied this handkerchief hem dress in Alyssa-Nicole’s summer 2017 collection, it was like running into an old friend that I’d had a falling out with regarding something so dumb I couldn’t even remember what it was and being so happy to see her and become friends again.
Stevie Nicks was an icon of my youth, but my Generation X angst somehow made me turn my back on the handkerchief hem she was known for, and rocked so very well, evidence below.
Recently I started noticing this silhouette now and again and really enjoying it. Whatever our differences were, handkerchief hem, it’s all water under the bridge. Let’s hang out.
This is the best way to feel dressed up without looking like you give a care.
Wow, so pretty. If I were a bride planning a casual beach wedding I’d be all over this. Or if I were to renew my vows? Hmmmm.
Stella McCartney short-sleeve boat-neck handkerchief-hem dress, $461 (extra 25% off!)
I’m obsessed with this color and the split sleeves! It’s a splurge, but considering it was originally $1,025 and it was designed by Ms. McCartney, it’s kind of a steal.
Parker Kam cold-shoulder handkerchief-hem slip dress, $209 (on sale!)
I love a pretty floral like this, and the cold shoulders are so flattering, especially if you’re at all self-conscious about your arms which I try not to be but still am :/
Opening Ceremony Delta handkerchief hem dress, $169 (59%off!)
The dress to wear to every and any event every and any time of the year.
CR Cynthia Rowley halter handkerchief dress, $59 (on sale!)
A sporty take on this silhouette, love it with sneaks!
This is a perfect bridesmaid or wedding guest dress.
Catherine Catherine Malandrino sleeveless handkerchief hem dress, $69
Um, this price?? How can you not.
Another splurge, but Ms. Marant can do no wrong. Note that this is styled with a white tee, which you totally have 100 of stuffed in your t-shirt drawer, right?
