If there’s one thing we learned this fashion week (Stylenik’s first!), it’s that we need to adorn our heads more often. From models in the fashion presentations to folks rocking their style outside Lincoln Center, no outfit seemed complete without a hat, turban, headband, fascinator or what have you. Luckily there was inspiration everywhere you looked and we came home from Manhattan with tons of ideas. Here are some rad head ornamentations we encountered at the Spring/Summer 2011 shows that have us excited for our next night — or day — out on the town. For a closer look and more styles, check out the slide show below.
1. Fascinators from Jennifer Behr, whose Spring/Summer line was part of Harper’s Bazaar and CFDA’s Accessories Bazaar at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week. Her hair accessories have been worn by the likes of Rhianna, Alexa Chung, Dakota Fanning and Natalie Portman. 2. Models walking in the Tracy Reese runway show wore adorable hats that we covet no matter what the season. 3. More Jennifer Behr, these are Grecian-inspired rope headbands. 4. Arabian Nights knit turban by Gold Saturn, a line designed by David Jon Acosta of Miami. We partied with him at the Tommy Hilfiger fete and he was adorable and awesome. 5. Models at the Rebecca Minkoff presentation wore earrings woven into their hair, a collaboration with jewelry designer Made Her Think. 6. Hat by Albertus Swanepoel, who also exhibited his creations at the Bazaar Bazaar.
