As the husband and I prepare to move into a very un-ironically seventies-style house in Pacifica, California, I’m racking my brain to remember every corner of the place so I can determine where furniture, art, etc. will go. And beyond that, I’m fantasizing about the fabulous pieces we could add to make the place look fantabulous (enough superlatives?). We’re moving from a one-bedroom loft to a three-bedroom single family home, complete with a “rec room,” dining room, sunken living room and three bedrooms. It’s fair to say things will look a bit sparse for a while. So I’ve taken to the interwebs in search of inspiration. I found some truly amazing — some in a good way, some not — examples of decor, furniture and some undefinable items from the 60s and 70s that I wanted to share. We actually have a white version of the orange fireplace, and I’m in love with all of the chairs, especially the hanging bubble ones. Please let me know which images you think can translate to 2011, and which you think should be relegated to the annals of interior design history. I’ve become so obsessed that I’m starting to think even the Ethan Allan ads are not so bad! Help!
If you don’t visit on any of those, at least click on this one. Trust me, it involves a horse — totally worth it.
