If you’re like us, you might feel 4th of July’s imposing mid-week position this year did not allow for proper preparation (hence this last minute post!). But just because the fireworks show goes off on Wednesday night doesn’t mean you can’t start all over again come Friday! Friday through Sunday is, after all, the official Independence Day-WEEKEND! If your pesky work schedule didn’t leave you time to plan your DIY outfit or scramble something up from Pinterest, don’t stress—we’ve got you covered. Let yourself shine this 4th of July weekend without breaking the bank, and you can do it by shopping locally—no waiting for the UPS guy (or gal)!
We popped into four of our favorite local boutiques and found some last minute patriotic pieces for you that won’t break the bank (check out the gallery below). We are gushing over the 3+1 Audrey Star white and navy star-patterned dress at Mira Mira in the Mission district! We’re also loving their red and white flowy blouses, which will go great with some high wasted shorts or a maxi skirt.

Get in the spirit during your workout in some limited addition red, white and blue sneakers. The Castro based shop Unionmade specially released the Patriotic 574 New Balance running shoes. Note: they have men’s sizes 7.5 and up only, so the small-footed girl need not apply. They’re a nice BF or hubby gift though!

We peeked into Azalea in Hayes valley and couldn’t help but notice their inventory of perfect-backyard-BBQ dresses. Our two faves: The Bernice Dress in Red Stripe, and the Alexa Collar Sleeveless Dress. Both are simple enough to easily layer—and you know you’ll need to once the fog rolls in, and they’re only $68 each!

Pop into LF on Union for some trending American flag styles, from platform wedges to cut off jean vests. The brilliant part is these festive ‘fits will take you way beyond Independence Day—you can rock them all year round. Though wrapping yourself in an American flag MAY be going a bit far post-holiday.
