The first thing that entered my mind when I saw this amazing dress coming down the runway at Tracy Reese during New York Fashion Week was: I want to renew my vows and throw the boho-est wedding ever. When I got married in 2003, I wore a fairly traditional white dress created by the wonderful San Francisco designer Azadeh, which was inspired by this Narciso Rodriguez design that was a touch out of my price range. My hair was straightened pulled back in the front and left down in back (kind of mullet-ish, come to think of it). I loved my dress and have no complaints, but sometimes I think if I could turn back time (cue Cher song), I would do a BIG dress, perhaps similar to Gwen Stefani’s, with asymmetrical pick ups or something. But if I were to renew my vows currently, I would throw a total hippie wedding wearing this Tracy Reese number. My hair would be super wavy and definitely down (thanks to our new friend Jennifer from Cibu hair products I could do it myself! One more aside: Christian Siriano designed HER wedding dress, the lucky girl!!), and I’d wear very high platform sandals, perhaps these beauties from Elizabeth and James. It would be held at the beach at Big Sur and we would slip a tab of acid into everyone’s champagne. Totally kidding about that last part, that would be wrong and we don’t do drugs here at Stylenik. But re: the rest, I’ll keep you posted if I can get the husband on board.
