I’ve gone down makeup rabbit holes with liquid eyeliner and whatnot, and I’ve since vowed to keep it simple. I could watch a million makeup tutorials (and I probably have) but I’ll never be one of those women who knows how to really do up her face. And I’m OK with that.
While the products may change with the seasons or as I discover new ones, my beauty routine never takes longer than five minutes. Here are the five products currently in the rotation:
True Botanicals Everyday Sheer Coverage in medium tint, SPF 20, $40
This makeup is still going strong as my favorite foundation-slash-sunscreen. It’s super light but still breathes some life into my complexion. For nights out I layer on a little more than usual for more coverage. Plus True Botanicals is non-toxic and carries the Made Safe stamp of approval.
Benefit Cosmetics Ka-Brow cream gel eyebrow color with brush, $24
I’m gonna go ahead and be dramatic and say this stuff changed my life. Filling in your brows can improve your face by 53% or more (that’s an estimate). And I love not having to dig in my makeup bag for a brush, because it’s attached!
Benefit Gimme Brow in dark brown, $24
True and sad fact: Some hairs in my eyebrows are turning gray. <Crying hysterically emoji.> Luckily, this stuff does the trick by covering it up. It stays on, and it plays double duty by keeping brows in place.
E.l.f. mascara primer in very black, $2.99
I love the shape of this brush so much. It lets you get those corner lashes, which I personally like to give a little more love with mascara. And at three bucks, why the heck not?
Elizabeth Street Cosmetics Street Stick in Church, $24
This is my latest obsession, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s the best lipstick I’ve ever used. It has a moisturizing effect, and the color sinks into your lips in a way that keeps it visible, even after brunch.
