I’m so obsessed with the morning bun at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco that I sometimes find myself lying in bed after waking up, fantasizing about eating one: peeling back those crunchy on the outside soft and buttery on the inside layers, tasting that hint of orange, licking the sugar granules off my fingers. Another thing I tend to imagine while I’m lying in bed is what I’ll wear that day. Recently the two sort of overlapped.
The centerpiece of a morning bun-inspired outfit has to be comfortable. I mean we are talking about a high calorie breakfast pastry here. My first search was “cocoon dress,” and this sparkly number from ASOS came up and seemed just about right. Don’t the sparkles remind you of the sugar? The orange flavor is the necklace. The raffia clutch represents the light, flaky crust. The wood bangle is the crunchy part, and the rose gold earrings are, naturally, the golden color of that crunchy part. The lipstick? It’s Clinique Butter Shine in Adore You, which couldn’t be more perfect. This is all really obvious, right? I mean, this outfit is screaming MORNING BUN.
Has this ever happened to you? Do you have favorite foods you’d to see to made into an outfit (or have you already made your own)? Hit me up in the comments or at kp at stylenik.com!
