Being a mom is hard for lots of reasons, one of them being that you’re constantly wondering if you’re doing it wrong. It could be just me, but I suspect there are others. When Mode asked me to make a video entitled “What’s in Your Diaper Bag,” I almost said “no” because I was embarrassed that my kid was still in diapers. She was already three and still not potty trained. We had made some headway, but the truth was we still needed the diapers, and she was resisting wearing underwear.
Now she’s 3.25 years old, and thank god she’s out of diapers during the day. She still wears one to bed though, which I’m struggling with because in the morning she tends to just poop in it. I’m sorry for the TMI but I would love tips on this one! The attitude seems to be: if I’m wearing a diaper, why would I haul my little butt to the bathroom when I can just poop right here in my cozy bed? My neighbor, who has an 11-year-old girl, said: “She’s a girl! She won’t want a diaper much longer!” But apparently my girl is not as poop-averse as hers.
Anyway, in celebration of the fact that I no longer have to carry around a diaper bag, (we’re pretty safe during the day these days, unless, like the other day, I make the poor decision of putting her in a jumpsuit with lots of buttons, or she decides to wear two pairs of leggings meant for a 2-year-old) I give you “What’s in Your Diaper Bag,” featuring Caroline Curran of Perfect 10 SF, Tina Phan of Phashionable, and yours truly. I’m still getting the hang of this video thing. How am I doing? Check out my other efforts on What’s in Your Spring Break Bag, and this tour of my home.
