My brain has been focused elsewhere this week in a way I never could have predicted. It’s a long story for another time, but the reality is, it’s Thursday and everything I hoped to get done this week has to happen today and tomorrow.
So the above photo is apt—I am racing around to get my stuff done before the Holiday arrives. My goal is 100% chill time after Christmas for a full week. Can it be done? It will likely involve several hours of work over the upcoming weekend, but it will be worth it for a week-long stretch of relaxation.
Oh so my outfit… this dress is from Zara. Sometimes I go into a Zara hole and cannot escape without buying something. Their editorials are too good. As often happens with online shopping via lookbook when I ignore the fact that the person wearing the garment I’m coveting is a model, the garment is not always optimal for my body type. It’s super comfy and I love the embroidery and the length an the sheerness. But next time I will try it with maybe a skinny belt! I need to emphasize my waist, otherwise the emphasis is on generating theories that I may be pregnant.
That said, I wouldn’t change anything about this fun photo shoot with Elena Zhukova. She is a genius and so much fun to work with and lives right down the road! I’m so thrilled to be working with her. Also: these boots are my new obsession. Freda Salvador kills it every time and these beauties are a perfect for creating a winter white situation. Oooh and all-white outfit finished with these boots would be amazing, no? Will have to work on that.
The ring with the blue stone—it might be aquamarine but I’m not sure—was my lovely grandmother’s. I admired it on her hand pretty much my whole life and I’m so honored to wear it now. The bracelet that looks like a watch was also hers—a confusing and fun piece.
This Margiela bag is enormous. It was a splurge that comforted me during a time of crisis, and it mostly sees the light of day during photoshoots because it really is too large to be practical (I mean it’s a clutch!!).
Whoa check out that revealing back! I just let the bra strap show and called it a day.
This charming Christmas tree lot is right down the road from our house. I can’t remember the name—I will have to drive by and let you know later but it’s right next to Gorilla Barbecue and Yonder Shop and it’s accessible when you’re going north on Route 1 AKA the Cabrillo Highway. If you’re traveling south you have to make a U-turn at the Vallemar stop light. It’s a cute one and they also have flocked trees!
Happy Holidays everyone!!
